Station Walkthrough
Kuranda railway station is located on Coondoo Street. It services the Kuranda Scenic Railway between Kuranda and Cairns. There are two platforms, which are on an island with tracks on each side. There is carparking available, including accessible spaces. The Kuranda area is quite hilly, with an uphill walk from the station into the town. The platforms are accessible via stairs or a lift.
Upon arrival at Kuranda railway station, you will find several facilities for your convenience, including:
- customer seating
- hearing loop
- payphone
- shelter
- ticketing office
- toilets (accessible and including a baby change table).
There is a tearoom on the platform which is open daily and offers refreshments, snacks and souvenirs for purchase.
Skyrail Rainforest Cableway and buses can be accessed at street level above the station, via Arara Street, offering connections to various local destinations.
There is no level access to the train itself from the platform. If you require assistance boarding, please inform our team when booking and we will be happy to assist you. A hydraulic lift is available to board the carriage.
