Open for one (1) hour prior to the departure of each Spirit of the Outback service only.
Boarding and Luggage
Luggage check-in
Luggage check-in at the station platform:
- Opens 60 minutes before scheduled departure
- Closes 30 minutes before departure
If you are checking-in luggage, please be at the station ready to board 45-60 minutes before your train departure time (luggage check in closes 30 minutes before scheduled departure).
If you are not checking-in luggage, please be at the station ready to board 15 minutes before train departure time.

Station Walkthrough
Longreach railway station is located on Sir Hudson Fysh Drive (Landsborough Highway). It services passenger trains travelling westbound to Longreach, and eastbound to Rockhampton then down to Brisbane. There is one platform, which is on the southern side of the track. Access to the platform is via a steps or a ramp. There is carparking available.
At the station there is a toilet (accessible and with a sharps bin), shelter and customer seating.
There is no level access to the train itself from the platform. If you require assistance boarding, please inform our staff at the time of booking, and we will be happy to assist you.
