Luggage check-in
Luggage check-in at the station platform:
- Opens 60 minutes before scheduled departure
- Closes 30 minutes before departure
Luggage trolleys are available, no coins are needed.
If you are checking-in luggage, please be at the station ready to board 45-60 minutes before your train departure time (luggage check in closes 30 minutes before scheduled departure).
If you are not checking-in luggage, please be at the station ready to board 15 minutes before train departure time.

Station Walkthrough
Rockhampton railway station is located on the southside of the city and can be accessed from Murray, George or South Streets. The station uses one platform for passenger trains travelling south to Bundaberg and Brisbane, north to Cairns and west to Longreach. There is a carpark at the front of the station, including accessible spaces, and a drop off zone closer to the entrance.
The path to the platform is flat. You will pass through the main foyer, where the Travel Centre is on the left and the platform is straight ahead. The Travel Centre is where you may purchase long-distance rail tickets.
From the platform there is access to the customer lounge and toilets, which have an accessible option and baby change facilities.
There is also:
- customer seating and shelter
- a drink fountain
- a hearing loop
- a help phone
- a pay phone
- next train information and
- a vending machine.
There is a bus stop and taxi rank outside the entrance to the station building.
There is no level access to the train itself from the platform. If you require assistance boarding, please inform our staff at the time of booking, and we will be happy to assist you.
